Two early surprises...

A very mild February night for rural Northumberland last night. The trap was on from 6pm - 11pm and the temp was no lower than 8 degrees. As a result a few moths were caught including some early examples...

  1. Beautiful Pine Beauty! that would make my day opening my trap tomorrow morning and finding one of those! still yet to see one.
    I have a trap out in mixed woodland as it is very mild again, who knows!

  2. Brilliant Stewart! I caught just 1 Pine Beauty last year- but it wasn't as photogenic as that one, Red Chestnut is hard round here too......
